Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 16 lollipop sticks
  • colorful sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water according to package directions.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a mixing bowl. Mix in half a cup of frosting until it holds together.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips in intervals until smooth. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into melted chocolate, insert into each chilled cake ball, then coat fully in melted chocolate.
  6. Add sprinkles if desired and set in a foam block or refrigerate to harden.
