Description

Oat Flour Pie Crust is a delightful, gluten-free alternative to traditional pie crusts, bringing a nutty flavor and tender texture to your favorite desserts. With just a few simple ingredients, this easy-to-make crust is perfect for both sweet and savory fillings. Its golden-brown hue adds an appealing touch to any pie, making it a fantastic choice for gatherings or cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups oat flour
  • ½ cup solid coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 46 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine oat flour and salt.
  2. Add solid coconut oil and mix until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
  3. Stir in maple syrup and gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). For custard pies, bake the crust blind for approximately 15 minutes before adding filling.
