  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup fine cornmeal
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry the pickle slices to remove excess moisture.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs with buttermilk until smooth.
  3. Coat each pickle slice in the flour mixture, dip into the egg mixture, and return to the flour mixture for a second coating.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry coated pickles in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
