  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion until translucent. Add the ground meat and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until just wilted, about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the cabbage mixture followed by half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
